Turning a game into a film is always a good idea. But whether or not the result was good is what always matters.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Is, most likely, the last movie we will see of the popular franchise. Alice has 48 hours to obtain the air born anti-virus and cure the T-virus.
As I said, making a game into a movie sounds like a good idea, and the first film of the franchise wasn't so bad. The movie starts good. With Alice being chased by a huge flying monster, action is promised.
But this is not an action movie. Resident Evil is one of the scariest games you can play. But the films are mainly action-thriller more than horror. Which is disappointing,
That being said, i'm not going to completely bash this movie. Some parts, are good. Alice, after being instructed by the red queen to go back to the hive. Finds Claire and other survivors back at a tower in Raccoon City.
My favourite part of this scene is when the zombies make their way into a circular building, when Alice and a very genius survivor kills the zombies with a gas fueled fire-fall. Yeah, it's that awesome.
But I can't help but think this movie could have been a lot better. Wesker, one of the games most famous characters, isn't nearly enough as bad ass as you'd think he'd be. The film focuses more on Dr. Isaacs. Who is discovered to be the same as Alice.
I am giving this movie 3 stars because the story is solid. The action is good. But I can't help but feel that Wesker could have fought more. The entrance to the Hive was way too easy. And the final battle wasn't that epic. We are returned to familiar scenes in the Hive. But like I said. The final battle could have been so much better.
